Further to my previous announcements on the committee selection to the Asian 5 Nations and Rugby World Cup 7s, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Juan Engelbert as Philippine Rugby Development Consultant, Pam Belardo as Administrative Manager, and new staff for rugby development. They will be assisting the PRFU by providing the much needed support for its day-to-day operations and to further growth of the sport across the country.
Juan Engelbrecht - Philippine Rugby Development Consultant
As Philippine Rugby Development Consultant, Juan will oversee the training and development of rugby union at the grassroots level in the Philippines—tapping the provinces of Cebu, Davao, Pampanga, and Bulacan. He will be directly reporting to the PRFU Board for closer coordination and implementation of plans and activities across the country.
Juan has a degree in rugby union from the Stelenboch University in South Africa. Stelenboch is the only university in the world to offer a degree in rugby union. Prior to that, Juan attended school in the Philippines from 2005-2010.
Supporting Juan are Nikki Lira (Development Manager) and six new fulltime rugby development officers namely: Carlito Abono, Cassie Umali/Chris Hettel (Job share), Joe Mari Rauras, Joselito Talosig, BK De Los Santos, and Mary Royo.
The Rugby development team now has 14 personnel to fully aid the Volcanoes and promote rugby development as the country enters the world stage.
Pam Belardo – Administration Manager
Pam has been with the PRFU for almost a year and was recently promoted to Administrative Manager. As Administrative Manager, Pam will oversee day-to-day operations of the organization and will be directly reporting to Matt Cullen (Operations Consultant). She will be assisted by Alpha Musico, accounts assistant.
Please join with me in welcoming Juan, Pam and the new development officers into their new roles.
All the best,
